We here at strive to bring you the best and most current information we can on VPN and Usenet service providers.  So, it comes as no surprise that we want to get you up close and personal to one of our best rated VPN service providers, HideMyAss!

Below you will find some screenshots from inside the HideMyAss (HMA) web control panel.  This web control panel is available to all customers and provides key information about your account, a list of the available servers on the HMA network, as well as a number of other important pieces of information.  The web control panel is available after you login to the website with user/pass credentials.  The web control panel is not the same as the HMA Pro VPN software, which provides all of the VPN features such as Load Balancing, Server Selection, and Speed Testing.  For screenshots on the HMA Pro VPN software please visit our earlier news bulletin.

We will be following up this news bulletin on the web control panel with an even more in-depth look at HMA – taking you behind the scenes of their HMA Pro VPN software, and providing a FULL TEST on ALL of the HMA VPN servers!  So check back in a few days for more of the inside scoop on HideMyAss Pro VPN!

The HMA Web Control Panel Home Screen gives you the basics on your account, the latest versions of the software that are available, and big long list of the servers.  In our screenshot below we have cut off the list of servers, so don’t be scared, there are a lot more where that comes from!

The HMA Web Control Panel  Software Download area provides all of the various software copies of HMA Pro VPN software for download.  Each software copy is organized by operating system type, and versioned so you can be sure you have the latest and greatest.  By the way, they do have software for Linux users!  (and Windows and Mac, of course!)

The HMA Web Control Panel PPTP Server List provides a list of all the available PPTP servers and their IP address.  It also provides you with your username and password for the PPTP servers.  Keep in mind that for HMA your username remains the same for PPTP but your password does NOT!  You will need to use the PPTP password on this screen if you wish to authenticate on a PPTP server.  This is quite nice to have a list available on the web, so you can quickly access it from your smartphone/ipad/mobile device without having to worry about installing the HMA Pro VPN software application.

The HMA Web Control Panel Support section gives you links to access either the Web Forum or the Email Support system.  Just in case you need to submit a ticket or ask for assistance.  As an FYI, HMA is rolling out live help for their VPN customers, and this will soon be available in this section, as well as all over the main HMA website.

The HMA Web Control Panel Order and Renew area will give you the particulars on your current plan, as well as the opportunity to renew.  Pretty simple, eh?  Look at all those payment options too!

The HMA Web Control Panel Account Settings give you the option of changing your current password and email.  It also allows you to regenerate a new PPTP password, in case you need it.  Remember, the PPTP password is different than your account password!

Alright, that’s it for the tour inside the HideMyAss web control panel.  I hope you enjoyed the behind the scenes look at the control panel available to all HMA VPN customers.  Stay tuned for our next in depth look at the HMA Pro VPN software where we plan on testing ALL of the HMA VPN servers!  As always, check the editors review and customer feedback to see what everyone is saying about HMA!

    Dear Admin of,

We do in fact provide live support at the moment. It has been implemented some time ago. We are not 24/7 yet, but soon will be 🙂

However, users can still get to us at by dropping us an email. We will attend to it as soon as we can, and whenever we can 😉

    Please follow us on Twitter.

    HMA! Team

Editor’s Note: Our bad! We had seen the mention, but hadn’t seen the roll out. We looked a little deeper and found this: “Live chat is for sales and technical help only, for billing please email us. Live chat is turned on between 5-10AM & 11AM-7PM GMT”. D’OH! Our fault! We must have missed it. Live Chat is UP folks!

I appreciate the effort you put into your blog and detailed information you provided on HideMyAss. It’s nice to find a webpage every once in a while that isn’t the same old reused story. Great read! I’ve saved your blog and I’m adding your RSS feed to my Feedburner account.
