Overplay has recently completed an expansion of their VPN service by adding quite a few new countries. We love to report on expansions of this type because they show how the providers are constantly improving their services for their customers. It’s also a great way to see which companies take an active interest in their service and constantly strive to improve it!
Overplay’s VPN services are now available in an amazing 31 countries, which is an increase of about 8 countries since January of this year. That puts them near the top of the list for providers with the most countries offered. This is definitely good news for Overplay VPN customers!
They currently have VPN servers in countries like: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and the USA. Below is a graphic of the sever list from Overplay after this recent expansion. Overplay does a great job of listing each server and then indicating which VPN protocol is available as well. In the UK and the USA, they are now running multiple servers to give overseas customers the ability to choose from the fastest server.
Speaking of the fastest servers at Overplay, don’t forget to take a look at their Speed Test Page! On the Speed Test Page, Overplay customers, and interested parties can measure the upload/download speed to a select number of Overplay VPN servers. This is a great way for new or prospective customers to see what kind of speeds they can expect from Overplay servers. These are the live VPN servers from Overplay, and they are currently in use – so you can get an accurate idea of just how well they work in your area, and perhaps even at peak hours!
We had one of our US east coast editors perform a speed test on all three servers using the Overplay VPN speed test. Below is a graphic of the speeds. His connection is a typical broadband cable connection with normal download speed of 30Mbps and upload is normally 1Mbps. As you can see, US east, of course, performed the best. It almost maxed both directions. The UK server did pretty well, while the Ireland server suffered a bit on the download. UK would be high enough for streaming, easily, while Ireland would probably fall short and would require buffering. Note that this is just one of our editors, and YOU should take the tests to see how YOUR connection speeds will vary. We guarantee it’s the best way to see to how Overplay VPN will work for you – our one east coast editor can’t be considered representative of the entire population!
Congratulations to Overplay VPN for the server expansion! We look forward to more good things to come from this top tier provider of VPN services! If you do decide to take the tests and/or signup for Overplay VPN, make sure to come back and tell us what you thought!
